Illegal Warfare (IW) & Mafias
Illegal Warfare
CSI heavily condemns the use of illegal warfare. Illegal Warfare is, basically, actions and methods which are deemed harmful and can cause significant distress on individuals. Illegal Warfare includes, but is not limited to: hacking, “DDoSing”, and “Doxxing”.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks results in the victim being unable to access online services for a period of time. These attacks are rare, however, if you feel that you are being targeted then it is recommended to contact your internet service provider for further instructions. All personnel are strongly encouraged to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) while connecting online to mask their IP: this will help protect your identity while you are online.

Doxxing is using personal information for malicious intent. This includes things such as blackmail and harassment. Doxxing can look like unwanted deliveries to your location or call your workplace. These individuals may also release your personal information on the world wide web, which can be a very stressful situation. All personnel are strongly encouraged to make their profiles on social media private and only include very limited information that is available to the public.

Online Safety Tips
These are general tips to use when online, so that you may keep yourself as safe as possible.
  • Never give out any personal information (age, birthday, location, password, etc.)
  • Don’t visit unknown sites or ones that announce you’ve won something
  • Report anything suspicious (it’s better to be safe than sorry)
  • Use 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) where possible
  • Don’t meet up with people you meet online
  • Be careful of what you download

Should your account(s) (Habbo, Discord, gmail, etc.) become hacked, it is heavily recommended that you contact an iC member immediately so they are aware, and can help you through the situation. Compromised accounts can pose a significant risk to CSI and its personnel, which is why it is very important to report this to the correct individuals right away.
